Carcharodontosaurus (Divine Beasts)

Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest theropod carnivores alongside Spinosaurus and Bahariasaurus; theropods that co-existed with it in early-late Cretaceous Northern-Africa. It was one of the largest Carcharadontosaurids, rivalling Tyrannotitan and Sauroniops in size, and being slightly smaller than Giganotosaurus. It has been modded by Divine Beasts Team.

Description

Carcharodontosaurus is a large carnivorous dinosaur with a long snout and sharp teeth. It is a solitary dinosaur that can be found in the desert. Carcharodontosaurus is a powerful predator that can take down large prey with ease.

Paleo Info

Carcharodontosaurus is a genus of carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived in North Africa from about 100 to 94 million years ago during the Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous. Two teeth of the genus, now lost, were first described from Algeria by French paleontologists Charles Depéret and Justin Savornin as Megalosaurus saharicus. A partial skeleton was collected by crews of German paleontologist Ernst Stromer during a 1914 expedition to Egypt. Stromer did not report the Egyptian find until 1931, in which he dubbed the novel genus Carcharodontosaurus, making the type species C. saharicus. Unfortunately, this skeleton was destroyed during the Second World War. In 1995 a nearly complete skull of C. saharicus, the first well-preserved specimen to be found in almost a century, was discovered in the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco; it was designated the neotype in 1996. Fossils unearthed from the Echkar Formation of northern Niger were described and named as another species, C. iguidensis, in 2007.

Survival Tips

An overachiever the Carcharodontosaurus is best played with two playstyles in mind. An offensive attacker where one moves their Carchar to position itself behind big prey and bites as frequently as it can to outdps it before the victim retaliates. The second playstyle would be to bleed creatures out, landing lacerating and shredding blows, clawing and then turning away as fast as possible using the tail attack to slap them away or balanced tail to outturn them and escape and let the bleed do the rest.

It cannot be played defensively too well as it is not as tanky as other Apex Carnivores. Its trot is quite good and can keep up with things by staying on them in their trot. One can use its charge to ambush its prey suddenly.

It is also best played offensively, going all in and never giving up on their assault, if one holds back the Carchar will not perform as well as hoped.
