Alioramus

Alioramus is a medium-sized terrestrial carnivore. It is very swift for its size, and uses its great mobility to chase down smaller prey, or hunt larger targets using hit and run tactics.

Description

With a slender build and long, muscular legs, Alioramus is clearly adapted for running. Additionally, its head sports small brow crests and a prominent nasal ridge, and its body is adorned with a cape of feathers on the front and top of its torso. Like all Tyrannosaurs, its arms are not of great length.

Paleo Info

Alioramus is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous Period of Asia. The type species, A. remotus, is known from a partial skull and three metatarsals (foot bones) recovered from Mongolian sediments which were deposited in a humid floodplain about 70 million years ago. These remains were named and described by Soviet paleontologist Sergei Kursanov in 1976. A second species, A. altai, known from a much more complete skeleton that consists of a nearly complete skull, partial vertebrae, a pelvic girdle, and hindlimbs. A. altai was named and described by Stephen L. Brusatte and colleagues in 2009. Its relationships to other tyrannosaurid genera are unclear, with some evidence supporting a hypothesis that Alioramus is closely related to the contemporary species Tarbosaurus bataar. Alioramus is currently placed in the Alioramini of the family Tyrannosauridae, being most closely related to the larger Qianzhousaurus (dubbed "Pinocchio rex").

Trivia

  • Alioramus has mostly bright skins per the perk owner's request.[1]
  • Alioramus is slightly oversized as requested by the owner due to the only known remains being of a sub adult or juvenile.[2]
  • Alioramus used to do bleed damage at release. This effect was quickly removed due to complaints.
  • Alioramus used to have Counterbalance. This ability was removed from every creature that had it in Gondwa Update.
  • Alioramus’ name means “Different Branch”.
