Palaeosaniwa is a small-sized lizard AI found in burrows. Palaeosaniwa is an unplayable creature that acts as a food source for preferably small carnivores. It is small and slow with well-camouflaged skins, but it's slow and dies in 1 hit from a baby deinonychus.

Palaeosaniwa canadensis is an extinct species of carnivorous lizard from the Late Cretaceous of North America. The name, given by Charles Whitney Gilmore in 1928, means "ancient Saniwa from Canada". Palaeosaniwa belongs to the super-family Varanoidea.

• Aside from the playable creature Megalania, Palaeosaniwa is the very first lizard implemented as AI in Path of Titans.
• Palaeosaniwa was given a Tegu skin in reference to a developer's pet Tegu*, Bug.*
