Hatzegopteryx

Hatzegopteryx is a large flying carnivore. It was a stretch goal reached during the Path of Titans crowdfunding campaign, and was added to the game December 25th, 2023.

Description

Hatzegopteryx is a massive pterosaur that towers over a large portion of the roster. It has a big head and a thick, powerful beak that can deliver deady pecks to opponents. Its broad wingspan lets it glide for long very distances and scan for prey. When Hatzepopteryx spots a small creature, it can swoop down and snatch it up, and drop it to its death from high in the sky.

Hatzegopteryx ("Hațeg basin wing") is a genus of azhdarchid pterosaur found in the late Maastrichtian deposits of the Densuș Ciula Formation, an outcropping in Transylvania, Romania. It is known only from the type species, Hatzegopteryx thambema, named by Buffetaut et al. in 2002 based on parts of the skull and humerus.

Additional specimens, including a neck vertebra, were later placed in the genus, representing a range of sizes. The largest of these remains indicate it was among the biggest pterosaurs. the average adult Hatzegopteryx was 4 meters tall, had a wingspan of 10 meters and weighed 350 kg. Hatzegopteryx belongs to the family Azhdarchidae which is apart of the group of Pterosaurs Azhdarchoidea.

• Hatzegopteryx is the largest flier available in the official base game.
• It was added to the game December 25th, 2023. The developers of the game pranked the playerbase by flying around and clamping players with Hatz slightly before its addition was announced.
• Hatz used to be able to damage grounded players while flying but this was eventually changed.
