Rhamphorhynchus
The Rhamphorhynchus is a small flying carnivore. Despite its inability to fight, it is an incredibly powerful utility creature for any pack to have due to its various scouting and damage-amplifying abilities. But it is still adept at surviving alone, using its tiny stature and agility to avoid predators.
Description
Despite its six foot wingspan, the Rhamphorynchus is considered to be a small pterosaur. And unlike its much larger relatives, the Rhamphorynchus had a very long tail and an array of sickle-like teeth jutting from its mouth.
Paleo Info
Rhamphorhynchus is a genus of long-tailed pterosaurs in the Jurassic period. Less specialized than contemporary, short-tailed pterodactyloid pterosaurs such as Pterodactylus, it had a long tail, stiffened with ligaments, which ended in a characteristic diamond-shaped vane. The jaws of Rhamphorhynchus housed needle-like teeth, which were angled forward, with a curved, sharp, beak-like tip lacking teeth, indicating a diet mainly of fish; indeed, fish and cephalopod remains are frequently found in Rhamphorhynchus abdominal contents, as well as in their coprolites. Rhamphorhynchus adults were on average 1 meter long, wing span of 2 meters and 5 kg. Rhamphorhynchus belongs to the family Rhamphorhynchidae.
